VietGAP stands for Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices that basing on 4 criteria:
- Standard for production technology.
- Food safety, including measures to ensure no chemical contamination or physical contamination when harvesting.
- The work environment aims to prevent the abuse of peasant labor.
- Product Traceability. This criterion enables to identify the hazards from production to consumption.
VietGAP is the food safety inspection program from breeding facilities to slaughter, after slaughter, storage, including related factors such as the environment, chemicals, plant protection drugs, packaging and even the working conditions and welfare of workers in the farm.
VietGAP Certification is to assess and assert that organization’s products are breeded or processed in accordance with the standard Vietnamese Practice good agricultural production.
GOOD AGRICULTURE PRACTICES
In July 30, 2012, Department of Livestock, Ministry of Agriculture Rural Development issued the decision 219/QD-CN-TTPC to assign Vietnam Certification Centre ( QUACERT) as the organization certifies VietGAP for dairy cattle, pigs, poultry and bee safety.

- Good livestock practice for diary;
- Good livestock practice for pigs;
- Good livestock practices for poultry.
